Children in Year 4 have been learning how to follow a recipe.  They have learnt the skills of measuring, creaming and rubbing in.

Building on yesterday's knowledge of electrical circuits, Year 5 created their own doodlers. 

The creating of the doodlers created several issues where the class had to use their problem solving skills to make sure the doodler moved across the paper.

In Design and Technology today, Year 5 explored the world of electrical circuits. We built our own circuits with a motor. We will use our knowledge from today for our next D&T session where we will create our own doodlers.

Year 2 have enjoyed making their own breakfast pancakes and writing the instructions for them.

Knowledge: 

To select balanced combinations of ingredients.

Skills: 

I can describe the taste of different foods.

Vocab: mix, stir, heat, fry, blend, taste, ingredients, recipe

Year 2 have been learning how to create a fairground wheel using axles and pivots.

Knowledge: I can create joints and structures from paper/card and tape.

Skills: I can choose materials that will create strength for my structure.

Vocab: pivot, axle, rotation, stability

Year 2 have been exploring the component parts of  a Ferris wheel.

Knowledge: to build and test a moving wheel.

Skills|: to make my wheel rotate; to make it stable.

Vocab: structure, stable, rotate

Children in Year 4 have been exploring different types of cladding to decorate, strengthen and/or improve the appearance of their frame structures. 

Children in Year 4 have been exploring different 3D structures as part of the design process. 

We had lots of structures falling down!! 

Today, Year 5 created their own Bolognese sauce as part of our D&T lessons. Well done Year 5!
