After School Clubs

Bike to School Week
At Brookside Primary school we took part in Bike to School Week. It was a great opportunity to promote the positive impact that an active lifestyle can have on child's well-being and health.
Competitions
Throughout the course of the year, children are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of different intra-class and inter-school competitions.
Hoops 4 Health
Year 5 and Year 6 participated in a Hoops4Health workshop delivered by Cheshire Phoenix. They explained the importance of eating healthy, exercising to keep fit and the dangers of smoking.
Active Maths
Active Maths uses PE and physical activity to raise achievement in maths. It helps to support progress and attainment across the whole school, and raises aspirations to narrow the learning gap. The benefits of active learning in the classroom are widely acknowledged in a variety of areas of the curriculum. Not only does it allow core curriculum subjects such as maths to be taught in a fun and engaging way, but increases physical activity in children when meeting recommended standards is challenging.
