Year 2 had a lovely day at Bickley Farm, learning all about animal skeletons and bird habitats.

Well done Y6. This week in science we have been looking at:

• the effects of overeating on the body​
• the food groups that should not make up a large part of our diet
• the food groups we need to eat to maintain our health

Lots of 'food for thought'!

This afternoon Year 5 learnt the ingredients needed for a fire and then explored how the volume of a glass determines the length of time the flame will burn for when in a closed space.

Year 2 had a wet but very interesting day visiting Bickley Farm.  We went pond dipping and used nets to catch some water boatmen and dragonfly nymphs.  We also looked at different habits and found some owl nesting sites.

In Science, we have been exploring the suitability of materials.  This experiment involved testing the strength of paper and cardboard.

In history we are learning about famous explorers. 

We found animals which were native to each of the seven continents.  

Year 3 have been learning about light and dark. We have been discovering how the length of an object's shadow is affected by the position of the light source. 

On Friday, Year 5 had a fantastic day at Chester Zoo!
