Year 4

Year 4 have been writing Nature Programme voiceovers.  The children had to focus on presenting their work with appropriate intonation, tone and volume to inform and entertain the reader.

Children in Year 4 have been using images to make prediction about our new Literacy book, 'Where the Forest Meets the Sea'. 

Children in Year 4 have been practising inserting text boxes and images, as well as using the Spell Check function to create a 'How to Survive Volcano' Guide,. 

Children have been exploring the relationship between Volume and Distance.  They have graphed their results.

Year 4 have enjoyed looking at the new unit of Computer Science work linked to coding - writing and debugging algorithms. 

As part of our DT learning this half term, children have been researching different types of bread before making their own.

As part of Anti-Bullying Week, children in Year 4 have being exploring how 'One Kind Word' can make someone smile. 

We explored the different words and phrases we could use to make someone's as well as small little gestures.   

Today, in Science, we looked at our own teeth and then created our own scientific models using marshmallows.  Children then labelled the type of teeth and stated what the function of each. 

Children used different shading techniques to create our artwork as part of our Remembrance Day activities.

Today, the children learnt about the importance of 'Rainbow foods' in our diet and were encouraged to try new foods.  The children had lots of fun creating food collages inspired by the Italian artist, Guiseppe Arcimbaldo. 

Children in Year 4 have been developing their clay skills by creating a pinch pot, using Greek styles and shapes.
