Year 2 Science

Knowledge: I can find out and describe how plants need water, light and a suitable temperature to grow and stay healthy.

Sound and Pitch

Year 4 have had a very noisy afternoon creating straw pipes and a pipe flute. 

The children discovered that: the shorter straws produced a higher pitch note and the longer straws produced a lower pitched note.

We have been learning all about our skeleton and that of other animals. We have been observing over time how different substances can affect bones.

Creating Waves

We have created our own 'Sound Wave Machine' to demonstrate how sound travels in waves.  The children explored how the waves change when you tap the jelly baby with different strengths.

MAD Science

Today all the children were WOWed by our MADScience Assembly.  The children explored SOUND in a variety of fun and exciting ways.

Year 1 Science

It's been a busy Science day today starting off with an amazing Science assembly in the hall with the whole school. We hope the children were inspired to become a scientist. In Year 1 we continued to explore materials and their properties. We found out which materials were absorbent.

Y6 Science - Electricity

KNOWLEDGE: We have associated the brightness of a lamp or the volume of a buzzer with the number and voltage of cells used in the circuit.

Year 1 Zoo trip

Year 1 really enjoyed their visit to Chester Zoo. We have been learning about Antarctica and studying facts about penguins.

It was a very cold and snowy day at the zoo. The children and staff felt like we were actually in Antarctica!
