Year 4

Children in Year 4 have started to build their frame structures following their design criteria and plan.  The children had to work as a team or pair to construct the pavillion. 

Children in Year 4 have been exploring the Human Digestive System. 

Year 4 were very lucky to participate in a musical keyboard lesson with Hannah from Music Squad.  The children had a great time keeping the pulse, playing different keys on the keyboard and singing in tune to a Toy Story Favourite, 'You've Got A Friend In Me!'.

Year 4 have had the most amazing 2 day residential at Burwardsley Outdoor Education Centre.

As part of our Science learning, children in Year 4 have been learning to name of the parts of the digestive system.  

Children in Year 4 have used the rainforest to inspire them to draw and create batik fabric squares.  

The children in Year 4 have had a great time extending their learning at home by creating a 'Rainforest in a Box'.  

A topic of discovery; children have been exploring the rainforest through music and have been introduced to new musical terms.  They have used a body percussion to create rhythms of the rainforest, layer by layer. 

Over the last 5 weeks, children in Year 4 have been developing their understanding of what a branching database is and how to create one.  They have also considered real-world applications for branching databases. 

In Literacy today, the children have been developing the skill of editing and improving.  The children will be editing and improving their Rainforest non-chronological reports later this week. 

Year 4 have completed another lesson of their 'Online Safety' curriculum.  The children looked out what information they could share on line and what information should be kept private. 

Over the last 5 weeks, Year 4 have been learning a new sport; cricket.
